There’s something extra sweet about photographing a couple who started as coworkers — you can practically see the little moments that turned into something big. Sam and Jennifer noticed one another between cubicles, meetings and lunch, that slow-blooming work romance turned into something truly beautiful.

For their engagement session we wandered around some of their favorite local spots in downtown Des Moines. They love music, movies, and laughing together, and that easy, playful vibe made the whole shoot feel like hanging out with friends who just happen to be totally in love. The weather couldn’t have been nicer — golden light, a gentle breeze, and lots of spontaneous smiles and laughs. Whether we were capturing a shared joke or just a quiet look, every frame felt genuine and joyful.
